United States
I despise the left wing liberal attempts to change America. I support FREEDOM, freedom of speech, right to bear arms, religious freedom and protecting the rights of Americans, including the unborn. Close the border, round up illegals and send them home. Welcome them back with a green card. I believe in preserving the visions of our founding fathers which did not include Socialism or Sharia Law. This IS STILL America.....at least for now.

The USA Does Not Need the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child

I read about this convention today and how our new leadership in the USA is going to review this once more. I had never heard of it so I went looking for more information on it. I googled U.N. Convention on the Rights of the Child and CRC and I was floored with the websites it returned with this information on it.

I agree with some of what is in this bill of rights....but as I say over and over...you have to read what it DOES NOT say as well as what it does say. There are some very interesting items for the well being of children listed in this bill of rights....however....there are many that remove the rights of the parents to make decisions for their own children. You could lose the right to have your newborn son circumcised. Homeschooling would go away....the right to refuse to allow your children to be taught that homosexuality and transgender lifestyles is an acceptable alternative lifestyle. We already know that the government is pushing for this sort of education beginning in kindergarten.

I do believe that children should be taught to treat ALL people with love and respect, but to present to children that this is an option for them is just too much in my opinion. They do not need to worry about this sort of thing in KINDERGARTEN!

I urge you to read the artlice I am linking below and then to read the Convention on the Rights of the Child. I remind you once again, to read what it DOES NOT say as much as what it does. The first article puts some of it into plain english where the actual bill of rights....just makes it all sound wonderful.

When reading the Convention on the Rights of the Child....be sure to take note of how often and where it says OVER AND OVER:

State Parties shall.....

It is not the responsibility of State Parties to parent my children. It is my responsibility. They are MY children not the children of the state.

Also know that every nation in the world has adopted this treaty except the USA and Somalia. Although the USA did sign this, it was never ratified. Somalia did not have a legally recognized government at the time so they could not move forward on this. It was signed by Madeliene Albright.

Now, it is coming up for a review by the Obama Administration. I believe it has a chance of passing and it scares me to death. It also scares me because MOST Americans do not have a clue about these kinds of things until they become law.

If every country but the United States and Somalia has ratified this treaty, then tell me why Islamic countries continue marry off their seven year old daughters, stone their daughters to death when they are RAPED, and murder them if they dishonor their parents? Can a Muslim child decide for themselves that they want to be a Christian? I think not. They would lose their lives for this. So unless there is an exemption for these countries.....we have a problem already.

Senator Barbara Boxer made the following comment:

"Now, all you have to do is look around the world and see these girls that are having acid thrown in their face."

This happens in countries where the treaty has already been ratified. Is it still happening because the USA has not ratified the treaty? I don't think so.

I am not the type of parent that spanks my child every chance I get, in fact, I do not like doing it...and do so very, very rarely.....but there have been times where it was necessary...and it did serve its purpose. There is a difference between abuse and a spanking.

To voice your opinion on this, please go to www.congress.org and you can enter your zip code to find out who your representatives are in Washington. I urge you to email them IMMEDIATELY!

United Nations' threat: No more parental rights
Expert: Pact would ban spankings, homeschooling if children object

Convention on the Rights of the Child

Convention on the Rights of the Child (1989)
The text of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child with emphasis on the articles that could prohibit circumcision of newborn males. The highlighted text would apply to prohibiting circumcision.

And the same people pushing for this in the USA are the same people who ripped Elian Gonzalez from his family here which provided safety, security and freedom. They sent him back to Cuba. Lots of freedom and individual rights there, folks.

Elian was so "free" that he has now joined Cuba's Young Communist Union.
Elian Gonzalez Joins The Communist Party
Many Cuban Exiles See The Boy's Induction As Proof That He Is Fidel Castro's Pawn

This treaty could very well eliminate all Christian schools. Young children would be free to choose their own religion. Umm....does this apply to Islam as well?

Your child could seek birth control or an abortion without your knowledge or consent. How many children know their blood type...or family medical history which could be very relevant in making decisions of this type? Oh wait, not to worry, all of our medical records will be on a national database.

Last I knew as a "parent".....my young children did not even know how to properly decide for themselves when it was time to go to bed...or stop eating candy....or when to take a bath...or the importance of vegetables.....when to do their homework...when to brush their teeth...but okay....let's let them tell me they don't like our church....and then force me to provide them with one that meets their satisfcaction. Oh...I and I guess I have to transport them there too....even if it means I miss my own church. Yes....HURRY....let's do it!

The United States does not require or need international standards for raising their children. That is what this treaty is...whether it actually says so or not.

The United States does not need the United Nations telling us how to do ANYTHING. The United Nations has no business in my family matters. None.

  1. "You could lose the right to have your newborn son circumcised"

Parents do not have the right to mutilate their newborn son. That is what circumcision is. Would you allow people to cut off the labia or clitoral hood of your newborn girl? Don't be a hypocrite. Educate yourself on the functions of the foreskin and see if you feel the same way.

  2. You have the right not to circumcise your son. I have the right to have mine circumcised.

What you are suggesting I do to a newborn girl is not the same as circumcising a baby boy.

This is a preference...and sometimes a religious preference. I have never ever heard a man complain that he was circumcised as a newborn.

  3. Hi,
My name is Ron. I am a man.

I am disgusted that a vital sexual body part was amputated from me at birth. The foreskin includes about 20,000 specialized pleasure-receptive nerve endings. It protects the glans and adjacent mucosa from the drying and abrasive effects of clothing and air. It provides an exquisite frictionless rolling/gliding mode of stimulation during intimacy.

    Foreskin feels REALLY good.

You may know your legal rights in your sick society. 95% of the non-Muslim world does not circumcise. Every mammal evolved a foreskin before there was surgery or soap. No national medical association (not even Israel's) endorses routine circumcision.

"Thou shall not steal" came humdreds of years after the Jewish covenant of the 8th day. The New Testament makes plain that physical circumcision is NOT part of Christianity. The Catholic Church forbids it. The Qur'an does not mention genital cutting for either gender.

NOBODY had a moral right to have a healthy normal part of my body cut off.

If I could time-travel and you were holding a knife to the genitals of infant me, I would gleefully sieze it and plunge it through your eye socket to the back of your brain to protect myself.

    HIS body HIS decision.

Now you have heard a man complain about being circumcised as an infant.

  4. Well there is always a first....and you are the first I have ever heard complain. You would still be in the minority.

I would still choose to do it if I had a son. Just because YOU are unhappy with it does not mean that others should lose the right to make this decision. For the record, my husband would choose to have it done for his son as well.

  5. ^^ my husband would choose to have it done for his son as well. ^^

Only about 2 in 1000 men who reach adulthood intact choose to be circumcised. Does your husband have any idea what he is missing?

What is the emergency that warrants amputating part of your child's body? What was the diagnosis? What other remedies were tried or proposed?

I think you have your fingers in your ears and are saying Nah Nah Nah as loudly as you can to make sure you don't hear something compelling in the case against circumcision. But your son will be curoius. The way the internet is archived, HE WILL know exactly what you ignored. HE WILL ask for an apology.

Your mistake won't make you a bad person until you refuse to apologize.

Why not spend a few minutes watching one of these concise educational videos on the functions of the foreskin and avoid the whole soap opera?

  6. Why can't you just accept that others may have different feelings on the matter? You have no right to FORCE your views on anyone. I respect your view and your right to your own opinion. Please respect mine.

  7. ^^ I respect your view and your right to your own opinion. Please respect mine. ^^

You haven't stated anything to respect or disrespect, except that you don't respect your son's rights?

Is there anything about the statements made my me or by Mark that you refute? You only site your opposing "feelings." What about your son's rights to whole normal natural body that nature took 65 million years to perfect? What of his right to decide how much of his penis to keep?

    Good Evening,
    -Ron

  8. I asked you to respect my opinion. You must be a democrat....lol.

  9. I could respect your feelings if you were willing to spend 5 minutes getting educated before making a life-long irreversible decision to take a source of pleasure away from someone else.

You probably spent more time than that deciding whether to buy the shoes you'll wear today.

  10. I have educated myself. I went to nursing school. I do not need to justify my reasons to you. It is my opinion and your forceful attitude will not change it.

    Have a good day.

  11. >> I went to nursing school. <<

I don't think you realize that in the videos I posted there is more information than US doctors have been taught upon graduation.

There are US anatomy texts that use diagrams of the circumcised penis as examples of normal genitals. Misinformed family practitioners still often diagnose "phimosis" as a dreadful condition a child can get, instead of the harmless natural state of every penis. They still often instruct parents in washing under the child's foreskin even though it is now known that the proper hygienic thing to do is leave it alone.

How are your non-penis-specific nursing classes an over-riding source of expertise, when there is not one national medical association on earth which endorses routine circumcision? Panels of specialists have been asked to study the matter and release policy statements.

While the AAP says merely that circumcision is not justified, with known risks and drawbacks outweighing possible benefits, other places where doctors have less to lose by ceasing the practice have policies that are more straightforward. Circumcision is banned in Australian public hospitals. The Canadian Pediatric Society says Circumcision is a “non-therapeutic” procedure, meaning you are choosing cosmetic surgery for your son, having nothing to do with anything discussed in nursing training. (On page http://www.cps.ca/english/statements/fn/fn96-01.htm you can read "Circumcision of newborns should not be routinely performed.") UK, South Africa, the list goes on.

The US is tha last country still letting a majority of newborns be cut for non-religious reasons. But that's changing. Only about 25% are cut in the 4 Western states, and the nationwide rate is close to 50/50. I can forgive my mom for what she did in the 60s. But today, with the internet and all the info that is available, I can't imagine how hard it would be to forgive a parent who failed to protect me, especially if she had been tipped off and stubbornly closed her mind instead seeking the truth.

I could never punish my son for the forcefulness of the person who brought the harm of circumcision to my attention. You know adults get better pain management meds for surgeries and recoveries. How can you be so sure that at no time during your son's life evidence or therapies will emerge to contradict what you recall from nursing? Why is it so vital that you and not he decide?

    Cheers,
    -Ron

  12. I agree with Tammy. The right to circumcise an infant is an important thing. First, the foreskin is like the appendix for humans. It may have once served a purpose, but now we have evolved from the need to use it. Most who do not get circumcised as adults wish they were done as infants. The anti circs always say how infants feel and remember the pain. Out of all the things that have ever harmed me, i am unable to remember feeling pain from circumcision. And what Tammy might mean is that out of the majority of those who are RIC, very few, i decimal percent, ever complain about it. There is a majority of those who would rather be circumcised and who arent, then there are of those who are circumcised, and wish to not be. I HATE IT WHEN PEOPLE TELL ME HOW I SHOULD FEEL. I do not feel mutilated, I do not feel as though something is missing, I do not feel that the surgery is unnecessary, I do not feel that I lack sensitivity, I do not feel that I have been affected in any way. Should I go on? The majority of those who are circ'd had a mistake in the operation. The chances of that are small. There is also a chance that those who are not circumcised can be affected. I don't like being told anything is wrong with me because that is the thing... nothing is wrong with my penis. If i have a son in my life, he will be circumcised. I cannot imagine it any other way. I am circumcised and I am proud. I am 15, and I am a guy. If i could time travel back in time, I would jump up and stab the eye sockets of anyone who was trying to convince my parents not to circumcise me. And, when you do the ^^ quote ^^, instead of using quotes, I can only imagine you doing a little 5 year old nya nya nya in your face voice. Grow up and use quotations. How is anybody supposed to take your argument seriously if you are that immature.
