United States
I am outraged with the left wing liberals and their attempts to change America. I support freedom of speech, right to bear arms, religious freedom and protecting the rights of Americans, including the unborn. Close the border, round up illegals and send them home. Welcome them back with a green card. I believe in preserving the visions of our founding fathers which did not include socialism or Shariah Law. This IS STILL America.....at least for now.

Let Me Be Clear.....

In 2008 the uninsured were needy, desperate, dying...and ignored by society. In 2010they will be criminals.

Anyone making over 150% of the poverty level will be required to buy health insurance. The fine for not doing so will be $100.00 per day. Should you fail to pay your fines, it becomes a misdemeanor with a fine of $25k and/or a year in jail. If you fail to pay THAT...it becomes a felony with a fine of $250k AND five years in jail.

The last time I checked....150% of the poverty level was still poverty.

Is this the hope and change you wished for?

Tammy,

In my opinion, the claims made in this post rate slightly lower - on a credibility scale - than the following claim:

290,000 X 24,000 = 165,600,000,000.

And let me be clear: that's an understatement.

Not being sarcastic...but this I really don't care what anybody thinks. Read the bill, Bob. Watch CSPAN...it is all over house floor today. The proof is in the pudding.

Just so you know....they are not claims. It is friggin FACT.

Tammy,

A correction - in my numbers - for the record from my last comments:

In my opinion, the claims made in this post rate slightly lower - on a credibility scale - than the following claim:

690,000 X 24,000 = 165,600,000,000.

And that's an understatement.

"Just so you know....they are not claims. It is friggin FACT."

Okay!

Under Section 6662(a), 20 percent of an underpayment attributable to health care tax

Section 6663, a fraud penalty of 75 percent of the underpayment

Section 6702, a $5,000 penalty for taking a frivolous position on a tax return

Section 6651, a delinquency penalty of .5 percent under the underpayment, each month

Section 7203, a fine of $25,000 or jail up to one year

Section 7201, a fine of up to $250,000 and imprisonment of up to five years.

I've compared some of the claims (actually, firggin facts) in this post against the Health Care Bill, HR3962 and the U.S. IRS code.

"The fine for not doing so [procuring acceptable health insurance] will be $100.00 per day"
I have found no statement or reference in HR3962 that gives credibility to this claim. It would be helpful and instructive to have a reference location in HR3962. Section 59B, directly below, which I copied from HR3962, states the penalty on individuals without acceptable health care coverage as a tax. It's clear that the amount of tax as determined under section 59B would be much smaller for most people than that imposed by the $100.00 per day penalty ($36,500 per year).

SEC. 59B. TAX ON INDIVIDUALS WITHOUT ACCEPTABLE HEALTH CARE COVERAGE.
(a) Tax Imposed- In the case of any individual who does not meet the requirements of subsection (d) at any time during the taxable year, there is hereby imposed a tax equal to 2.5 percent of the excess of--
`(1) the taxpayer's modified adjusted gross income for the taxable year, over
`(2) the amount of gross income specified in section 6012(a)(1) with respect to the taxpayer ....

"Under Section 6662(a), 20 percent of an underpayment attributable to health care tax"

This is correct; the 20% penalty for underpayment is assessed in accordance with sec. 6662 of the IRS code (excerpt below). In fact, all of the section numbers listed in your last comment refer to sections of the IRS code, not HR3962.

Sec. 6662. Imposition of accuracy-related penalty on underpayments

(a) Imposition of penalty
If this section applies to any portion of an underpayment of tax
required to be shown on a return, there shall be added to the tax
an amount equal to 20 percent of the portion of the underpayment to
which this section applies.

" If you fail to pay THAT...it becomes a felony with a fine of $250k AND five years in jail."

This is not true - without an important qualification: failure to pay the tax must be proven to be fraudulent.

There were changes made behind closed doors...some of the fines were mentioned there and in an interview where someone questioned them. None of it really matters...because despite this bill passing the House..the Senate has an entirely different one to pass. Amazing huh, the transparency.

If you watch CSPAN...you would have seen all the claims I made on video being debated. I have no reason to lie.

I find it interesting that the Constitution of The United States of America...the document that defines how this country operates....was less than 20 pages.....and healthcare reform...well...you know the story.

Tammy - New York cannot be exaggerated; what a city!

My YouTube page (link below) has a couple of videos I made in New York - and a collection of some of my other videos and slide shows.

I bypassed Cumming this trip to Georgia and drove directly to McDonough and had a great time playing golf with a cousin for four days. Then on to Milledgeville for a reunion and visits with seveal first cousins. On November 2, I drove back up Hwy 441 and stopped for a huge, scrumptious lunch at the Dillard House Restaurant (my favorite of all restaurants in the world) in Dillard. The fall colors were pretty much washed out in North Georgia and Western North Carolina. The colors are beginning to be pretty here in Southeast Virginia where I live. The weather here has been great for the last few days and I'm playing golf every day.

Actually, It is the change I was asking for. As a matter of fact, it is was the majority of Americans wanted. Obama has an approval rating of 54% so apparently everyone is happy with the changes he is making. You can throw whatever numbers around you want. I have numbers of my own. We are spending just as much on wars that the republicans started as we would be on healthcare. The difference is the money spent on war resulted in the deaths of thousands of Americans and the money spent on healthcare will result in thousands of Americans saved. So you republicans can keep catering in the insurance companies while the sensible Americans go about providing healthcare for all just like EVERY OTHER MODERN COUNTRY ON EARTH. That is all.

You summed it up in the first sentence, WAS. That is not including the false voters provided by ACORN.

Nobody here said we do not need reform....we do. What you fail to see is that it is a total failure in other countries. Open your eyes. Speak with some intelligence here....why are they coming from Canada and the UK for medical care here? Oh....and those who need healthcare the most will have to wait 6 months to get it under the Obamessiah plan.

Go hug Pelosi....she is gonna need that hug.....then you can go to Cuba to get your medical care.

See ya in the bread line.

One more thing....why didn't your Obamessiah just end the wars....and the Patriot Act? No....he just leaves the troops over there with out enough people to fight the war...essentially giving many of our young men and women a death sentence.

Where is the liberal outrage, I ask you?
